I recommend booking your session as soon as possible, at least 1-2 months in advance, for best availability. If you are thinking of a Spring or Fall session, you may want to think about booking sooner as available dates go quickly during those peak seasons. While I do make every attempt to fit in last minute requests, it can be difficult to make room in my schedule to accommodate.
Generally, all sessions will be scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday due to family commitments; however, under special circumstances, I can be available on a weeknight. Most sessions will take place 1-2 hours after sunrise or 1-2 hours before sunset for best lighting during outdoor sessions.
The best time to schedule a maternity session is when you are between 32 and 36 weeks. If you know you will be interested in documenting this special time, it’s never too early to book your session!
It is best to contact me to book your due date while still pregnant to ensure availability and flexibility around that date. Babies are best photographed between 5 and 14 days after birth while they are still very sleepy, so I recommend contacting me as soon as possible after birth to schedule the exact date and time of your session. I generally schedule newborn sessions in the morning around 10am for best indoor natural light at my in-home studio. After booking, please review information on preparing for your newborn session.
